"To find the ideal winter coat to deal with Québec winter time is very difficult when someone is European and skinny as I am. It's always either too big or too long or too « sportswear » or too warm for taking the metro... I had the chance to discuss this dilemma with Amandine who then offered to (...) make a winter coat just for me that would not only suit my needs but also my tastes. She made me discover milkweed, which I had never heard of before. After the choice of colors and materials, we finally agreed on an outer shell made of wool and a super soft lining quilted and padded with milkweed fiber. Measurements taken really quickly and efficiently, then first version, adjustments... a bigger hood to fit around my head and The Hat (I need room to put all this in). First try the pockets were as I wanted them... my hands fit inside in a natural fashion. No need for contorsion. Later on we discovered that winter time was asking for a good inside lining for the pockets. It's been three winter seasons I've been spending without wearing gloves nor thick sweater or third layer in a total comfort thanks to Amandine's custom-made work. Being a lab rat/customer for Maison Grocaut means being certain to have the exact answer to our needs.

I am proud to wear a fitted coat that is « classy » and so practical. Warm but breathable. I just lack a big ol' hand-sewn logo on it to promote Maison Grocaut.
Amandine started by sketching my wishes before starting the conception. She was vailable to listen to my needs and found a solution to every frustration I had concerning the coats available on the market and to my bad experiences. Once The « sketch », the colors and the materials chosen I found myself embodying a haute couture mannequin giving life to my coat."
